What is monk fruit?

Monk fruit is a small sub-tropical melon that has been cultivated in the remote mountains of Southern China for centuries. According to legend, monk fruit is named after the Buddhist monks who first cultivated the fruit nearly 800 years ago. The unique low-calorie sweetness of monk fruit comes from naturally occurring antioxidants found in the fruit that have a delicious, sweet taste. We like to use it instead of sugar because:

  1. It doesn’t impact blood sugar levels, unlike sugar and other sweeteners,
  2. It adds zero calories,
  3. There are no known negative side effects.

How long are your spreads good for?

An unopened jar of SPRESH stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight will be good for up to 6 months! After opening, please refrigerate and enjoy within 3 weeks.


Why do you use acacia gum?

In regular spreads, sugar doesn't only act as a sweetening agent — it also candies the fruit and gives the product its glossy texture. In the absence of added sugar, acacia gum provides the texture you'd expect from a jam. We only use the highest quality, non-GMO acacia gum — it's the natural sap from the acacia tree!
